How it all started…

Our journey started back in Dec 2007, when the project first materialized. Our plan was to help Xiang Bi School, a middle school in Xiang Yun. We made preparations. Our team was focused, determined and resolute holding this common goal in mind. We were raring to go.

A phone call changed all that. Changes in the education system in China meant the demise of our project. Demoralized and dejected, we pondered about our next step.

Were all our efforts and time wasted?

Spent, they were but not wasted. Reaching a consensus, we poured our energy into sourcing out for a new project. Several opportunities presented themselves and finally we chose Sweet Tooth – a café in Old Town Dali; a café that despite its seemingly pretty exterior had immediate needs.

Undaunted by the possible difficulties that we might face, we chose to walk the path less traveled. This will be a whole new project. There are no predecessors. We will be the pioneers.

As individuals, we might not be enough. But as a team, no challenge is big enough.

“We are each of us angels with only one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another.”

Together as Project Wings, we will Take Flight.
